Reading Girls' School newsletter - 29 SEPTEMBER 2023

Principal's message:

Yesterday's open evening was a great success. I wish to first thank all the students who participated in the evening either as tour guides or assisting departments in showcasing what we have to offer at RGS.

Our visitors, both parents and children, could not praise the students enough for how eloquently they spoke about the school, and about their experiences in and out of the classroom. Both our Head Girls and two of our Year 7s spoke so confidently about the school during the Principal’s talk, which I thank them for. I am always impressed with how confident our students are able to speak to a large audience; they show a great deal of maturity. We had nearly 100 students assisting with the evening. Of course, this is never possible without the hard work and continual commitment of all the staff. We had various activities going on that prospective students participated in. I wish to thank everyone for their efforts.

On a different matter, I would like to thank parents for ensuring that they continue to follow the one-way system in the car park and abiding by the 5 mile/hour rule. It is also important that parents TURN LEFT when they leave the car park. This is to ensure our students' safety and to keep the traffic flowing. If you are unable to turn left, then please drop your child on one of the side roads near the school.

I wish you all a restful weekend.

Marika Farrugia, Principal
