Midland, Michigan — August 1, 2025 —A prehistoric adventure millions of years in the making is coming to Dow Gardens in the summer of 2026. Guests will journey back to the Age of Reptiles as Dinosaurs Around the World takes over the 110–acre botanical garden with life–sized, animatronic dinosaurs and an immersive educational experience like no other.
Dinosaurs Around the World is a thrilling outdoor adventure at Dow Gardens, where 10 life–sized animatronic dinosaurs—including a playful dino bench—blend seamlessly into the summer landscape. With plenty of space to explore, guests of all ages can enjoy an engaging mix of science, imagination, and discovery through interactive passport stations and awe–inspiring creatures brought to life with incredible detail and technology.
“We are thrilled to welcome the world–famous Dinosaurs Around the World exhibit to Dow Gardens summer 2026, offering visitors an extraordinary opportunity to explore our lush landscapes in a whole new way and encounter creatures we’ve only imagined. This immersive experience promises to delight guests of all ages, inspiring wonder and curiosity as we journey back in time together,” shares Carolynn Paten, Director of Programming and Guest Services. “This exhibit will be a memorable chapter in our garden’s story, inviting everyone to discover the prehistoric world amid the beauty of Dow Gardens.”
To complement the exhibit, Dow Gardens will also spotlight a selection of living plant species with ancient origins. Guests will encounter examples of prehistoric plant life—such as ferns, horsetails, ginkgo, and cycads—throughout the garden, connecting the botanical world of the past with the vibrant displays of today. This living history offers another layer of discovery, highlighting how some plant lineages have survived mass extinctions and continue to thrive millions of years later.
The exhibit will be open to view from Tuesday, May 19 through Sunday, August 23, 2026. Additional details, including special programming and ticket information, will be announced as summer approaches.
