Dear parents/guardians,
Thank you for your understanding and support with the cold weather conditions this week. On Thursday morning it was wonderful to see pupils playing outside. Days like this often create the strongest memories! I would also like to thank all of the parents who helped us to grit the site; we have a fantastic community in Johnston.
Lateness: I was hoping for you support around punctuality. The covid period allowed schools to alter start and finish times and I think that it might have created some confusion in the mornings. For pupils in years one - six, the main gate will open at 8:40, as lessons are due to begin at 8:50. Pupils arriving after this time will be marked as late. We are going to begin closing the gates just after 8:50, as in recent weeks, we have had high numbers of pupils arriving after 9:00 and this creates disruption in lessons.
As ever, if there is anything that I can help with, my email address is Williamsr1688@hwbcymru.net
Kind regards,
Mr. Williams.

Celebration Video - Year Four Camp Out!
As you may know, we have developed a close relationship with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and they have funded many of the trips and experiences which we have been able to offer. During the summer, Bryony Rees, the outdoor schools coordinator arranged for a film company to make a film of our overnight camping experience and it contains some lovely interviews with pupils. If you click on the link button bellow, it should take you to the facebook page which contains the video.

Attendance Reminder
This week, our attendance has been 93.4% This is our best week since October 2023.
Don't forget the really useful guidance provided by the NHS: Is my child too ill for school?
This will help you make a decision about whether to keep a child off school or send them in. Please remember that minor coughs and colds should not prevent a child from coming into school.
This time of year is really exciting and busy. If children miss school they are not only missing learning, but often will miss lots of our special events and activities, which makes them feel left out.
