Albion College Homecoming 2024 Its a great day to be a brit!

Albion's 2024 Homecoming weekend brought a palpable purple and gold energy, from alumni panels to open houses, sizzling tailgates and big wins.

Lead donors Joe '82 and Julie Serra and Tim Wyman '91 returned to Albion to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Training Room in the Dow Center.

Smiling alumni spilled out from the Biology Department tailgate tent.

Alumni returned for a special Sports Professional Panel and Networking Event, hosted by the Communication Studies department and moderated by Lelani Casteele '25. Alumni panelists include Danni Wysocki '10, Jonathon Lorenz '15, Samantha Coon '18, and Nick Bertoia '16.

Visitors took in the "Natural Forms" alumni exhibit in the Munro Gallery, featuring work by Anne Beyer '10 and Steve Nyktas '02.

The Pleiad decorated their offices for an alumni open house.

Faculty like Professor Vicki Baker were a big reason alumni were so excited to return to Albion.

A happy display of mums and Albion, spelled out in bold purple and gold colors, welcomed alumni home.

A ceremonial ribbon-cutting was held outside the new Belonging Lounge, featuring the presidents of OLA and BSA student groups, flanked by Vice President of Belonging and Culture, Dr. Taran McZee, and Albion College President Dr. Wayne Webster.

Many alumni who returned to Albion for Homecoming decorated their purple and gold outfits with creative and colorful buttons.

DJ Daniel "CoolBreeze" Reeves kept the vibes flowing during the tailgate.

Athletic Hall of Fame 2024

Albion College Athletics inducted its 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame class on Friday, Oct. 4. Nine alumni who had successful careers as players and/or coaches while with the Britons were honored.

Michelle Hind Songco '02, Volleyball: A three-time All-MIAA performer with well over 600 kills to her name, she still ranks in the top five in program history in total blocks. In 2001, she was chosen as an Academic All-District honoree.

Troy Rundle '05, Football: Going in with his father and brother, Rundle was a two-time First Team All-MIAA tight end with the Britons. In his senior season, Rundle claimed All-American and All-Region honors.

Travis Rundle '02, Football: A two-time MIAA leader in passing efficiency, Rundle had a stellar career under center at Albion. Rundle was named All-MIAA twice, including First Team honors in 2001.

Kristin Slamer-de St. Aubin '07, Volleyball: Albion's career-leader in digs upon graduation (1,121), she still sits sixth overall in program history in the category. Her 27 kills in a four set match is still a MIAA record as well.

Dr. Laurie Vance '03, Soccer: A Hall of Famer as part of three soccer teams in the early 2000s, Vance goes in individually after a pair of First Team All-MIAA accolades. She was part of three straight MIAA Championship teams with the Brits.

Craig Rundle '74, Football: Albion's winningest football head coach in history, Rundle amassed 127 wins from 1997-2018, leading the Brits to seven MIAA Championships. He mentored nine MIAA MVPs in that stretch, earning 88 total conference victories.

Paul Lewis '14, Cross Country, Swimming and Diving, Track and Field: Lewis was a four-time National Qualifier in cross country and the 2013 Great Lakes Regional Athlete of the Year. Additionally, he was a MIAA Champion in outdoor track and field and scored points as a swimmer at the conference meet.

DJ Rehberg '96, Football: With 11 rings to his name as both a player and a coach, Rehberg is one of the most decorated members to ever walk through the Albion Football program. Rehberg was a three-time All-MIAA performer, as well as a key part of the 1994 National Championship team.

Rebekah Schultz Reiff '01, Cross Country, Track and Field: An incredible distance runner, she claimed All-MIAA honors in cross country twice, including First Team status as a senior. Schultz Reiff also was All-MIAA in track and field in 2000 and 2001.

Many individuals, teams, and groups contributed to the vibrant atmosphere during Homecoming.

Cheerleaders helped to raise the spirit at the football game.

Members of the 2024 Homecoming Court received flower arrangements and certificates from President Webster and his wife, Sally, during half-time of the football game. Members of the Homecoming Court were voted on by their peers.

Milestone reunions occurred throughout the weekend at various locations on and off-campus.
