- Bain Or Bailey
All the mock drafts you see are pretty split when it comes to Bailey or Bain. Bain and Bailey are the top 2 when it comes to EDGE rushers in this class and two of the best defensive players. But who is better?
Rueben Bain is very explosive and athletic. His power is off the charts and could bull rush any tackle. Bains speed is also very insane and is probably the fastest EDGE in this class. His athleticism is some any team to want, and is hard for Bailey to beat. But David Bailey is also awesome. David Bailey can also get past any lineman to stop the run with his power, and can knock the ball out of any quarterback. When you look at all the starting EDGE rusher in the league, Bailey is faster than more than half of them. With his speed and power combined he could also get past any lineman. But then again, Bain is one of a kind one it comes to athleticism. But then again, here is what I think. Everybody thinks Bain can be a top defensive guy but not at all. Rueben Bain is just a flat out bust who will only show a few flashes. I would compare him to Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibedoux in the case of they are flat out busts who made little flashes. Bain Has great power and speed but his finesse moves are terrible. He can’t get past the lineman 90% of the time. He will make some flashes in the NFL but he can’t be a top NFL Defender at all. If you can’t get past the lineman then it doesn’t matter that he is a super freak when it comes to athleticism.
When it comes to David Baileys case here is what I think: I would compare Bailey to some top EDGE rushers when it comes to the power and ability to get to the QB for the sack. So people are putting Ruben Bain over this guy? Bailey has such a force off the line and his speed and strength are better than half the NFL. NFL QBs should just retire before this guy is in the league because he is a monster in the pass rush, I see him get by the lineman 30% of the time which would lead the league. One play in the film a lineman legitimately gave up blocking him. Bailey has insane NFL potential. I think Bailey has such great potential and will have the greater prime than Bain, but in the end it always matters on where they get drafted.
How Many Offensive Tackles will be picked in the 1st round?
This year is a good year for tackles, not great but good. But its depth is absolutely insane, with 4 tackles that are locks. Those locks in my opinion are Mauigoa, Fano, Procter, and Lomu. But who else is there that could sneak into the first round? Let’s see how many teams will be going with tackle. I think the Cardinals are a lock to going offensive tackle at #4. The Browns have two picks and with both of their tackles hitting free agency, they must go there, and the Texans have the worst offensive line in the league. The Lions also have a need at tackle for the draft, and the Eagles with an aging Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailita, could be going for a future tackle. Depending on how the draft goes I think about 6 teams will be going tackle even if I have 5 listed. I think Blake Miller and Monroe Freeling have a really good shot and making it in. I think 5 or 6 offensive tackles will get picked.
Should the Rams trade their extra 1st round pick?
The Rams if not the best are one of the best teams in the NFL. And lucky for them they have two 1st round picks in this draft, but the Rams are a good team. They don’t have many needs at all, except for maybe more cornerback depth. The Rams are set at nearly every position, and even at the ones they’re not, they still have free agency. If the Rams trade one of their 1st rounders they could trade for next year picks, to get a Stafford replacement. The Rams could really benefit from trading their 1st, and I don’t see the point of drafting at #30 when they are this good.
