D'Mya Tucker is a graduate student from Orangeburg, South Carolina who committed to A&T after an impressive high school career. The 5'11 guard made an instant impact upon arrival at the university.
Since arriving at A&T, Tucker has always seen herself in a leadership position and has always strived to make a difference on and off the court.
D'Mya Tucker was a 3-star prospect playing at the varsity level for her high school, Orangeburg-Wilkson. Tucker averaged a solid 13.8 points per game while also grabbing at least 8 rebounds.
During her senior season, Tucker was ranked 19th in the state for double-doubles and was honored as team captain. Her leadership, as well as her performance, led the Orangeburg-Wilkson Bruins to be ranked #18 in South Carolina schools.
D'Mya Tucker saw success in her first season at A&T. In her first five games of the season, she averaged 14.4 points paired with 4 rebounds. The Lady Aggies would eventually go on to become MEAC champions
The Lady Aggies would make an appearance in the NCAA tournament and Tucker was named to the MEAC's all-rookie team. She finished the season averaging 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds on 42% shooting.
Following her success in her freshman season, D'Mya Tucker was a key contributor in helping A&T transition to the Big South and eventually the Coastal Athletic Association, where the Aggies play now.
Tucker would have impressive performances during this time. On December 11, 2021, D'Mya scored 21 points on 8-8 shooting against the rival school, North Carolina Central.
After 4 seasons at A&T, D'Mya Tucker would see herself be named team captain by the vote of her peers. She would also enjoy a 65 win percentage during her collegiate career.
The renowned leader has been known as a versatile defender and has also improved her scoring ability. While she has also been a great rebounder, she began to stretch the floor by adding a 3-point shot to her game.
