TAYLOR SWIFT: 13 SWIFTIES RANKINGS BY LUCIE BECKER AND KATE AZANO

Taylor Swift, also known as the music industry and as a twenty three time MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) award winner and twelve time grammy winner, she is known by billions of people around the world. We asked 13 middle school Swifties 13 Taylor Swift themed questions here are their responses:

The first album is Debut. Her first album is mostly made up of country songs. It was released in 2006 and her first hit was Tim Mcgraw, a favorite on debut. She was only 16 when she wrote the album.

Released in 2008, “Fearless” was Taylor's second album. It has won numerous awards such as, “Best Country Album.” and Grammy’s “Album of the Year.” This has some of Taylor's most popular songs and was a pop/ country album!

Speak now, her third album, was written by her from the ages 18-20 years old. A fun fact about the album is that she wrote most of it in a diary that was given to her by Kate Walsh, a character in Grey's Anatomy. It was released on October 25, 2010.

Red is most known for the song All Too Well. It was released in 2012 and it won the Billboard Music Award for Top Country Album in 2013.

1989 was an entire genre shift for Taylor making it a cohesively pop album. It was released in 2014 and then won “Album of The Year” in 2016. It has some of her biggest hits ever such as, “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off’ as well as so many other great songs. 1989 Taylors Version was just released (Oct 27).

Reputation was released during her self seclusion in 2017 that was caused by the negative backlash after her last album. This album is particularly powerful because as she talks about in her documentary “Miss Americana” she wrote a lot of songs about the anger that she felt after recent events and overall just being a woman in the music industry.

Lover is an inspirational album from 2019. It includes 18 songs about love and empowerment. Most of the songs are about her 6 year relationship with Joe Alwyn. It is a big change from her previous album that is about revenge.

Folklore was released in 2020 during the pandemic and is a fan favorite! This album is more lyric based and was different from any album before. It was her most recent Album to win “Album of the Year.” Taylor takes a few minutes out of every “Eras Tour” show to talk about Folklore back story and how she envisioned herself in a cabin in the woods holding a candlestick! One of my favorite things about this album is how Taylor incorporated characters into this album!

Her second to last album, Evermore is the second part to the album Folklore. In the song No Body, No Crime, she collaborates with the pop band Haim. She includes their names and Olive Garden (their favorite restaurant). The themes are love, nostalgia, and loss.

Midnights is her most recent album and was released in 2022. She released 3 versions of the album, Midnights, Midnights (3am Edition), and Midnights (`Til Dawn Edition). She collaborated with people like Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice, and even Zoë Kravitz helped write Lavender Haze.
