REPEAT MESSAGES:

Southside (Stuart St.) Kiss-n-Go Procedure Reminder

1. Park behind (East of) the bus zone , PLEASE STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE

2. Park behind the next car facing west, do not pull in front of other cars; this line will move forward when students begin unloading in the AM and loading into cars in the PM.

3. As the line moves forward westbound, your child may get in and out of your vehicle independently and use the sidewalk to enter campus at the open gate.

4. In the afternoon, when your student is loaded, you may safely re-enter west-moving traffic on Stuart.

***We request for safety that you do not make U-turns on Stuart.***

If you need to head eastbound on Stuart, take a left on Welch and continue around the block to access Stuart East Bound Traffic.

If this procedure does not work for your family, please park either on the Southside of Stuart Street and use crosswalks to come onto campus to meet your student, or park on Stuart, east of the Brookwood intersection.

RIFFENBURGH SCHOOL- SRO OPT OUT

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I want to let you know that School Resource Officer, Dexter Rowe, periodically visits classrooms for instructional purposes. He teaches lessons on staying safe, knowing your community resource members, internet safety, drug prevention, and other relevant topics. He may also be called upon to address topics in the classroom that relate to his field of expertise. If you would like your student to be a part of these sessions, you do not need to do anything. If you do not want your student to be a part of session that include our SRO, you may opt your student out of this by responding with an email to the Office Manager, Gretchen Distler (gdistler@psdschools.org) or Principal, Melanie Mierzwa (mmierzwa@psdschools.org), indicating that you do not wish for your child or children to be a part of a session with the SRO.

If you choose to do so, your student will be given topic-related work to complete during the scheduled class. If you do not opt out, it will be assumed that your student may attend. The goal of the Poudre School District School Resource Officer program is to provide a safe learning environment while improving relations between students, staff, and law enforcement officials. For more information, visit the School Resource Officer Program web page:

Sincerely,

Melanie Mierzwa

Principal, Riffenburgh Elementary School

Upcoming State and District Required Assessments:

n our spring semester we will be administering annual state and district required assessments. Please make note of the dates for the assessments your child will be taking and, whenever possible, please avoid absences during the testing periods. Please note that, on testing days, if students arrive late after testing has begun, they will not be able to join their class until testing has completed for the day. Having students on time and present on testing days helps us gather valuable data while minimizing interruptions to daily instruction. Please help us meet that goal!

Typically, assessments begin in the morning and conclude each day prior to lunch.
