Forden School 27th september 2024

Parent Forum

Thank you to all parents who came to the parent forum on Monday.

We discussed our new approach to reading in school where pupils have a choice of books to read at the appropriate level for them. These include a selection of reading scheme books, free readers and non-fiction books. Each book is linked to an online quiz which checks their understanding of the text.

Open school sessions will be held on the last Wednesday of each month, 3:15-4:00pm. Dates this term will be 23rd October, 27th November and 18th December. This is an opportunity for parents to come into class at home time, for their child to show their books and talk about their work.

Fundraisers this term:

Children in Need The School Council and Sports Ambassadors will be organising a sponsored run for Children in Need on Friday 15th November.

Bring and Buy Our annual Bring & Buy sale will be help on Friday 6th December with proceeds going to Hope House children's hospice.

Christmas Fayre Wednesday 4th December 3:15-5:00pm. Children will be running a range of activities as part of their Pupil Voice Groups. Parents will be running the refreshments, raffle, bottle stall (Mia's mum) and Christmas stall (Robert's mum). Donations can be left at school after half term.
