St. Peter Principal's Weekly Newsletter March 20, 2024

Congratulations to our 1st place "Pi Day" Team on winning the cabin contest!

Our 4th - 7th grade students participated in "Pi Day!" The day began with a panel of students who competed by reciting all of the numbers of Pi that they knew!

Congratulations to our "Pi Champ" Ana Ziifle!

As part of Pi Day, students were divided into groups consisting of each grade level (4th-7th grade) to participate in a STEM activity. They had to build a cabin using only the supplies given to them. Each cabin had to be built using specific dimensions and requirements and withstand a windstorm!

St. Peter Lenten Project

For our school almsgiving project for Lent, we will be raising money to donate to Heifer International. This company helps reduce poverty in 19 countries across four continents – such as Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Kenya, Mexico, and the U.S.

When we donate money to Heifer International, the money goes towards giving a family a better life either through education or nutrition. Our donations can provide an animal to a family in poverty, or we can send a child to school. We can even provide the means for women to open a small business using the resources they have on their farms.

Mrs. Sigler's Kindergarten religion classes learned all about the St. Joseph Altar.

Ms. Fairchild's 1st grade class celebrated the feast of St. Joseph by creating St. Joseph altars, praying for their dads, and writing letters to them.

The Girls' Club resolved to participate in apostolic service during Lent! They spent the afternoon assisting with the ECC Aftercare and playing with our youngest Roadrunners!
Four members of the The Girls' Club received the St. Teresa of Calcutta Award for virtuous behavior. Keep up the good work, girls!

Dads and Daughters had so much fun at our Father - Daughter Event last weekend!

Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Flores share what they have learned in Professional Development at this week's staff meeting.
