8th Grade ELA Explores Anne Frank’s Story

Research and Visual Projects Bring History to Life

Mrs. Brown’s 8th grade ELA students recently spent several months learning about Anne Frank’s story, along with the experiences of other Jewish individuals who lived in hiding during World War II.

As a culminating activity, students completed a two-part project to demonstrate their understanding. First, they wrote essays comparing and contrasting Anne Frank’s experience with those of other Jewish people who were in hiding during the Holocaust. Students then created visual projects to represent what they learned through their research.

Students shared a variety of thoughtful and creative projects with their classmates, including models of the annex, posters, Google Slide presentations, artwork, and other original work. During their presentations, students discussed both their learning process and the historical significance of their research.
