About me
I'm a Senior in High School; Class of 2024! I'm a Journalism Student. I enjoy Journalism because of the opportunity it provides us for use to tell stories; storytelling & media literacy being the main takeaway lessons I learned from this program. Meanwhile I Also engage in activities like Theater & Band. Im also a Track & Field/XC Student Athlete. Doing these extra activities, while also being a Journalism student is very beneficial, as Im able to further impact & elevate these programs through offered photography & extra given Media coverage. I love doing Story Packages, covering local & school events as a Journalism Student, & giving myself a voice through the works of a camera. It wasn't however till my Senior Year; did I start taking Journalism & having hands on experience with a Camera & an editing software- although I have had plenty of experience in they editing department. My interest in Journalism rose upon learning what my passion was outside of High School; making film.
In November of 2000, a musical theater buff took the story of Horton the Who by Dr Seuss and turned it into a Broadway show. Now, Englewood students are bringing it to life on the EHS stage. Seussical the Musical has been received by sell-out audiences at EHS.
Summary
Moving forward to pursue this passion, I found Broadcast Journalism at EHS to be the closest thing Film & Photography related to now prepare me for Film School at my desired post secondary program at MSU Denver & CU Denvers Media & Arts.
