The Week Ahead!!
National School Counselors Week
February 3-7 is National School Counselors Week! We are blessed at MSE to have two wonderful full-time counselors to assist students with a variety of needs as they navigate middle school. Whether you need help with scheduling, classes, career paths, conflict resolution, peer mediation, whatever you need, Mr. Alesi and Mrs. Hoskisson are here to help! This week we take to recognize their efforts each and everyday to support all the students here at Middle School East!
Eagle of the Week
Because we did not announce with last week's short week, we have 2 Eagle of the Week Winners!
8th grade Johnny C was nominated by Mrs. Meyer who wrote "This world needs more human beings like Johnny. He understands the power of education and how he will use it to make an impact on the Earth. He treats his family, friends, students and those whom he meets so respectfully. He leads by example at East by valuing learning, by prioritizing mastery, by questioning “why?” when something is unjust. Johnny has the innate ability to make those in his presence sit up straighter, listen more intently, believe more fiercely. One day, when he is teaching English as a second language to students in Vietnam, majoring in computer programming, and writing his memoir, we can all say we were lucky enough to share space with him in his early days. We are all so proud of you, Johnny. Thank you for your influence at East."
6th Grade Mason S. was nominated by Mrs. Mertz who wrote "Mason is an all around great student. He works hard all the time. He is always respectful and helpful to other students. Mason is a great listener and team leader and he goes above and beyond in the 6th grade. Sometimes the kind and quiet students get overlooked but I wanted to let Mason know that I see him!"
Be the Change Winners of the Week
Congratulations to Brandon T. and Francesca G. for being our Positive Office Referral Winners of the week! Thank you for being a positive role model to all of the students at MSE!
