For the past nine years, the Cardiff Met Primary Education Studies course has built a strong and meaningful partnership with Education Cultural Parents School (ECPS) in Rusizi, southern Rwanda. Through video collaborations, cultural exchanges, and even in-person teaching, our students have formed deep connections with ECPS pupils and staff.
This year, we are coming together once again to support families facing extreme hardship. Due to conflict in neighboring Congo, many parents are unable to work, making it impossible for them to afford school fees. As a result, countless children may be forced to miss out on education.
This is where we can make a difference!
Our student-led fundraisers will help ensure these children continue learning. Whether you run, row, cycle, or simply spread the word, every effort counts.

How you get can involved 'Road to Rwanda'
4,000-Mile Challenge – Starts 17th March until the 31st March
Together, we aim to walk, run, row, and cycle a total of 4,000 miles—the distance to Rwanda! Log your miles in our shared spreadsheet and encourage your networks to contribute their steps and donations. Students, local schools and businesses will be contributing their miles whether via cycling, swimming, running or even roller skating! Use our shared document to list your name, date and how many miles you completed and it will contribute to our running total.
On 31st March, we will have a final push at Cyncoed campus, using the track, rowers, bikes, and spin room to reach our goal. You can contribute as much or as little as you like!
