A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
It’s hard to believe, but “Manic May” has arrived, bringing with it a whirlwind of energy, excitement, and a broad range of emotions. From concerts and class parties to playoff games and year-end celebrations to monumental transitions, this month is full of moments that remind us just how fast the school year (and childhood) can fly by. Whether you're eagerly anticipating summer or feeling all the feels about your student’s next big step, a new grade, a new school, or even graduation, we hope you’ll find time to pause and take it all in. These are precious moments that become cherished memories. I frequently hear from parents this time of year: “It feels like just yesterday we were walking into 4K, and now we’re preparing for graduation.” This journey moves quickly. Sometimes way too quickly. So wherever you are in it, please cherish the little things: the proud smile after an art show, the story shared from the back seat on the car ride home, the high-five after a great game, and of course, the hugs that seem to become further apart as our students “grow up”. Every milestone, big or small, is a reminder of how much our students are learning, growing, and succeeding. And behind it all is significant effort, determination, and support from both home and school. So yes, May might be “manic,” but it’s also so meaningful. Make sure to pause and take it in, because there is so much to be proud of. Thank you for the opportunity to walk alongside you through this remarkable journey. We are truly grateful for your partnership.

Parent Experience Survey Results
We received the results from our Parent Experience Survey. The district’s overall mean is 4.41 (on a five point scale) and continues to be a strong measure that demonstrates the high degree of satisfaction parents have for the work we do each day. We received strong participation from families across our system with 1,371 parents having taken the survey. The highest rated item was: The school is clean and well maintained. (4.62). The lowest item was: I am informed about my child’s learning. (4.24). School administration and staff will develop and implement action plans focused on the strengths and opportunities provided via the survey data. Thank you to all that participated!
Student Wellness Committee
The foundation of our district’s strategic plan is rooted in the wellness of both our students and staff. As we continue to build on that commitment, we are seeking your partnership. We invite parents and community members who are passionate about wellness and bring a proactive mindset to join our district’s Wellness Policy Review process. This is a unique opportunity to examine our DPI Report Card, celebrate the progress we’ve made together, and identify key areas for growth over the next three years. Your voice, perspective, and expertise are essential as we work to strengthen a culture of wellness that positively impacts every member of our 1Warrior community. If you are interested, please complete this form no later than June 12th. Meetings will begin in the fall; a full schedule will be sent out this summer.
