Because of high demand for our 1stdibs.com consignment services, Space Modern is launching FABULIST -- a full-service solution for buyers and sellers encompassing the entire on-location consignment process, from careful curation, professional handling and photography, to communication and negotiations, processing payments, and finally shipping or delivery services. We offer selective pieces, from exclusive private collections, vintage retail galleries, and interior designer's overstock.

First we have to make sure that we're a match. contact us by clicking on the contact button, and provide us a list (one item or several) with a general photo of each item, full room, all pieces together or separately. If we're a match in quality and style, then we move on to the next step for more information...
- We'll send you a link to our intake questionnaire.
- We'll review & schedule an in-person or virtual meeting.
- If all parties agree to terms, then we sign the contract and schedule a final inspection with professional photo-shoot.
- We List your items within 7 days - this is the time to process (Photoshop) the photo's and write detailed descriptions, fully customized for various online marketplace platforms (i.e., 1stdibs.com. spacemodern.com, incollect.com + our social media channels, and direct email list)
- We negotiate offers on your behalf.
- Once sold, we processes the payment and arrange all shipping/delivery logistics.
- You will be paid within 30 days of delivery.
FAQ...
How much does it cost to list my items?
There is no charge for appointments, photography services, or listing fees. We cover it all, and are only compensated from the sale of your items, and at that point we will keep a percentage of the net sale price of sold items. Zero risk for our clients!
What items do you accept for consignment?
- We specialize in upscale contemporary, vintage mid-century modern and antique furniture, decorative objects, contemporary art, home accessories, and personal luxury items, such as jewelry and accessories like designer scarves, handbags and couture fashion.
- We generally prefer Items with an established resale value.
- Minimum retail price per item starting at $2,000 and up (exceptions for jewelry, accessories).
- Pieces must be in excellent or very good condition.
- We won't accept pieces that are worn out, or in need of repairs or refinishing (does not apply to items with a high resale market value regardless of wear).

Do you buy?
Although FABULIST is only setup for consignment listings, depending on circumstances, our gallery in Ft. Lauderdale (Space Modern) does purchase high-end vintage and mid-century modern designer pieces from mid 20th century to today. Please send us an email with images and asking price. Keep in mind that we do not provide appraisal services.
Do you List items that are located outside Ft. Lauderdale?
We currently consign items within the entire state of Florida via virtual appointment. You have to have access to FaceTime, Zoom or equivalent, and ability to take and submit high quality 300dpi images. If you're in Broward, Palm Beach, or Miami -- we send a specialist to meet with you in person and take care of all the photography at that point. If you're in Florida, and have more than 10 items or an entire estate, but are not located within the the three counties noted above, we may be able to arrange for a personal appointment which at that point we take care of all the photography. Can I bring my items to you?
Absolutely, but keep in mind depending on room, we may not be able to keep items at the gallery and you may have to pick them up at some point once we've photographed the pieces, but we encourage you to drop by for a personal visit during our business hours. Our gallery is located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Please call 954-564-6100 in advance for our hours and an appointment. Keep in mind we do not provide appraisal services.
How long is my Consignment Listing?
To be able to properly list and market your pieces, we provide you up to a year timeline.
What if I change my mind before my one year deadline, or decide to sell elsewhere?
This is a partnership, therefore we have a one year exclusive agreement with all listings, and a minimum listing commitment of 6 months. Items can be removed after the 6th month with a 30 day notice. We have an extensive trade clientele that are working on projects around the country, which takes time to reach a decision with their clients, therefore patience is key, and it's important to provide time and flexibility to increase the likelihood of a sale. This is why our listing services nets the highest return for our clients when compared to other local options.
