LifeHacks: Christmas Decor Edition By Venice Jingco

The familiar neighborhood feud: Light displays stacked on one-another, giant inflatable snowmen, and cheery Christmas holograms. However, nothing screams Christmas more than an expensive light bill or a festive financial situation. But why suffer for the aesthetic when affordable options exist?

#1: Yarn Christmas Tree

Coziness is a key factor of any holiday home. The iconic miniature Christmas tree wrapped in yarn is the perfect decoration for empty surfaces. Instead of buying from the shelves of a store, try looking to everyday items in your storage.

Rating: 7/10, while the process was definitely messy and required more than one glue stick, the end product made the pain worthwhile. Not only that, but any large gaps between the yarn can easily be covered with small ornaments or streamers. This is a cute and simple alternative to the classic store-bought yarn tree.

#2: Mini Snow Globe

Being able to hold a piece of Christmas in the palm of your hand can be quite expensive. People tend to underestimate the creative possibilities of average household items combined with a bit of hard work. There are infinite possibilities when it comes to making your own snow globe!

Rating: 5/10, while cotton and wire can't replace the tranquil essence of a real snow globe, it still gives me a sense of achievement to know I created something similar. Even so, I'd prefer the real thing.

#3: Festive Giant Bow

Giant bows are a staple of holiday decoration. They symbolize the unity and joy of gift giving, and they enhance the overall holiday aesthetic of any atmosphere. Learn how to make these bows from scratch, they're a great present topper!

Rating: 9/10, requires little materials and even less effort. I've often viewed these types of bows as complicated, but this hack proved otherwise. This is something that anyone can do for that classic festive look.
