reminder-Veteran's Day Program

JB Stephens is excited to host our annual Veteran's Day Program on Friday, November 8th at 9:00am in the Gymnasium. This program is open to any JB or community Veteran. Due to space, this program is not open to parents (unless they are a Veteran), as we want to be sure and make this program comfortable and enjoyable for our Veterans.  As needed, the Veterans may bring 1-2 guests with them for assistance and support.

Holiday Assistance: Holiday Assistance applications will be available from October 25-November 15. Tuesday, November 5th is our next scheduled ELearning Day!

reminder-Report Card

Quarter 1 report cards will be available via ParentSquare on Monday, October 28th at 8:00am. Elementary report cards are based on progression of the Indiana Academic Standards. Please see below for proficiency levels. It is very possible that a student is not at "achieved mastery" at this point in the year, as the expectation with many of our standards is for mastery by the END of the year. Teachers will review report cards at Parent Teacher Conferences.

REminder- student Attendance

Senate Bill 282/Public Law 125 - Absenteeism and School Attendance

The new requirements for schools focus on students who are in kindergarten through sixth grade. If those students have five unexcused absences, schools must create an attendance plan.

Indiana Code mandates that when a student misses 10 total unexcused days of school, the student and parent must be referred to the local prosecutor’s office and/or DCS. Therefore, we must submit a Referral Form to the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office and DCS office. The Prosecutor’s Office will then contact the parents to determine possible consequences, including court action for truancy or educational neglect.

Each week teachers nominate students for a Positive Office Referral. These students go above and beyond following our JB Way of Being Respectful, Responsible and Kind Cougars. Congratulations to this week's Positive Office Referrals!

REminder-Snacks

JB has a designated snack time for all students throughout the day. Please be sure and send in a healthy snack with your child each day. We do have extra snacks in the office, but we run out often. If you prefer to send in bulk snacks to the classroom, teachers always appreciate the donations!

REMINDeR-School Dismissal Manager

School Dismissal Manager is now LIVE! Please check your email for login and set up directions. As of September 3rd, we will only utilize this APP for dismissal changes. Please call the front office if you did not receive your login email or you need assistance. 317-462-4491.

• Doors Open: 7:30am
• Tardy Bell: 7:45am
• Breakfast (optional/paid): 7:30am-7:45am (if your child is eating breakfast at school, please be sure to get them to school by 7:30am, so they have plenty of time to eat)
• Dismissal: 2:10pm

If you child is eating breakfast at school, please make sure they arrive at school by 7:30am.

reminder-Volunteer Form

If you're interested in volunteering this school year, attending field trips, etc, all volunteers must complete a Volunteer Profile application, found by clicking here, before volunteering. This form must be completed each school year. We look forward to having you at JB!
