Dear Bluejay Family,
We are proud to share that several members of St. Cecilia’s Class of 2025—now high school freshmen—have been recognized through the new PreACT® Rising Stars Program, an initiative that celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional performance on the PreACT 8/9 assessment. This national program honors academic excellence and helps students, parents, and educators better understand college and career readiness at an early stage.
Of the 48 students in last year’s eighth grade class, an impressive 38 Bluejays earned recognition through this program: one student achieved the Distinguished Scholar Award (top 5%), ten students were named Rising Scholars (next 10%), and twenty-seven students earned the Early Scholars Award (next 35%).
This recognition is a testament not only to the hard work of our students but also to the dedication of our teachers, whose guidance and encouragement help each child discover their God-given potential. Achievements like these remind us that learning is more than a pursuit of knowledge—it is an act of perseverance, growth, and faith. The lessons our students carry forward are rooted not only in skill, but in the hope that comes from knowing they are deeply loved and supported.
Grace & Peace,
Erin B. Henry

Honoring Our Veterans: Flag Placement on the Front Lawn of SCS
St. Cecilia School invites all families to participate in a meaningful tribute to the veterans in our lives. As we approach Veterans Day, we want to create a visual display of appreciation for the brave men and women who currently serve or have served our country.
How to Participate
We encourage your family to locate a small flag (like a miniature American flag or a service branch flag) and place it on the front lawn of the school, near the flagpole.
- Who to Honor: The flag should be placed in honor of a veteran who is a part of your family or community.
- When to Place the Flag: You may visit the school and place your flag at your own convenience between November 1st and November 11th.
This simple act is a powerful way to show our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
Important Dates for Flag Removal
If you wish to keep and save the flag you placed, please ensure you remove it by Wednesday, November 15th. Any flags remaining after this date will be respectfully collected and disposed of by the school.
Thank you for helping St. Cecilia honor our nation's heroes!

While we often assume this means religious life, it is so much more! You are living out a vocation! If you have the opportunity, share your own story of marriage, college, career, etc.

Junior HIgh Testing Center
Junior High Parents, we are asking for your help in working together to guide our students with taking both chapter tests and quizzes when scheduling time in the testing center. While we encourage independence in choosing when to take test within the 5 days upon return, support at home when scheduling them to come before or stay after would help us as we set them up for best success. Tips to ask your child when you coordinate test center scheduling and transportation with them:
- It is best for students to take major assessments that they missed in one session
- Schedule other minor quizzes for another session
- Taking the assessments the closer to the return date the better
- They can take an assessment in the morning and afternoon on the days it is offered
Thank you for your continued partnership!
AR and Service Hours
We are approaching the halfway mark for AR and Service Hours. Please work with your students to acquire their points and hours.
