Last day driving before having my first baby.

Judges' remarks - This photo, with the caption ‘Last day driving before having my first baby’ is powerful. It breaks some myths of who can drive lorries. And with fewer than 2% of the UK lorry driving workforce being women, there is a need to change perceptions of lorry driving work within and beyond the sector.

One of my dogs, Twix, loves to come out on the road with me. I have a girlfriend with a chronic illness and when I take one of our 2 dogs, normally Twix, it gives her a break from the care of the dog and also allows me to spend more time with her as Twix wouldn’t get to see me for half of the day.

My little mate Benji. I don't take him with me every week as I'm not convinced being cooped up in the cab the whole time is good for him.

I am lucky that I am allowed to bring my dog to work with me whenever I like (as long as specific job sites have no objection). This was my main concern with starting a driving job as sometimes I can be out of the house for up to 15hrs or occasionally overnight. Rallye loves coming along for a drive and doesn’t care if it’s a van, 18T or the artics (but he needs a lift up for these!). He’s always keen to jump back in the cab after a break. His seatbelt also handily doubles as a lead for short breaks.
