GoMulan is excited to display the work of Dion Rosina in the Discovery section of Art Brussels (the 24th to the 27th of April) at booth 6B-18. Recently he was interviewed about his work by Luuk Heezen in the podcast Kunst is Lang by magazine Mister Motley. Listen to the interview here. Please note: the interview is in Dutch.
Dion Rosina's (1991, Netherlands) work can be characterized as a combination of abstract and figurative, with a touch of mystery. He uses sampling, a technique in which he reuses existing imagery in search of special stories, mysteries, and important people and moments in history. He collects a diversity of images that he digitally manipulates and assembles into collages, which serve as the basis for his paintings.
After completing his studies at the Breitner Academy in 2021 (2016-2021), Rosina made a flying start. He exhibited his works at the Rembrandt House as part of the exhibition Here. Black in Rembrandt's Time and his work was also displayed at Documenta 15. In 2023, he participated in Museum More in Gorssel and had his first solo exhibition at Kunsthal in Rotterdam. In 2024, he created an image of the Curaçaoan resistance fighter Tula, commissioned by the Museum Catharijne Convent Utrecht. His work can be found in various private and corporate collections, such as VuMC (Amsterdam) and the AkzoNobel Art Foundation.
