Mimi and I were up bright and early this morning, so we could participate in the Susan G. Komen walk. I was determined to do it this year, with my Aunt Shirley in mind, my cousins Dionne and Temica T. Ingram, and other family members who are still fighting, who won their fight and those who lost the fight. It was cold and I don’t think I’ve ever walked five miles, but it was more than worth it! To hear the stories, the laughter, shed some tears and celebrate the fight of so many women, were truly heartfelt moments.
Komen's goal was to raise $450,000 at the Charlotte Walk, generating critical funds that allow Komen to continue its investment in lifesaving work across the country, including promising research that will allow people to live longer lives with better outcomes.

A Prayer for our Grieving Families and Friends
If you are walking through a season of sorrow and loss, we want to remind you that you are deeply loved and not forgotten. Even when words fail, we trust in the unwavering promise that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). May His grace be a shelter for you today, and may the Holy Spirit be your constant Comforter. We are lifting you up in prayer, asking for strength, hope, and the gentle reminder that joy comes in the morning.
In Christ's name, Amen.
We pray in Your holy name,
Amen
A Prayer for Healing and Recovery
Heavenly Father, we lift up every member of our church family who is struggling with illness, recovering from surgery, or managing chronic conditions.
We pray for your healing hand to rest upon them—to mend what is broken, restore what is weak, and bring comfort where there is pain. Grant them patience and strength through the process of recovery, and peace as they rest.
We also pray for their caregivers, for wisdom and energy in their service.
In your mercy, Lord, watch over them, sustain them, and remind them that they are cherished and held in your unfailing love.
Amen
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Amen
