Our Mission
What we offer to our community
ZenTrails Collective is a nonprofit dedicated to fostering wellness, mindfulness, and movement-based health through accessible, community-driven programs. Rooted in principles of equity and inclusivity, we ensure that all individuals—regardless of age, income, or physical ability—have access to holistic wellness opportunities. Through partnerships with the Berkeley Senior Centers and Berkeley Wellness Centers, we provide free yoga mats and tailored classes, including yoga, group walks, tai chi, and brain and mental health workshops. By removing financial barriers and prioritizing adaptive techniques, we create welcoming spaces where everyone including seniors, individuals managing health conditions, and beginners can thrive. More than movement, ZenTrails cultivates belonging, ensuring diverse voices in our community are heard and represented. We turn equity into action, making wellness a right, not a privilege.

Services and Programs
In addition to our ongoing nature hiking programs, ZenTrails offers:
- Yoga: A gentle practice focused on flexibility and relaxation.
- Tai Chi: Movement designed for balance and joint health.
- Brain Health Workshops: Fun, interactive sessions to promote mental acuity.
- Guided Nature & Park Walks/Hikes: Adjusted for various mobility levels.
Outdoor yoga offers a unique blend of physical, mental, and emotional benefits by combining the practice of yoga with the rejuvenating effects of nature. Here are some key advantages:
- Enhanced Relaxation: Being in nature reduces stress and anxiety, and when paired with yoga, it amplifies the calming effects on the mind and body.
- Improved Focus and Balance: Practicing on uneven terrain challenges your balance and concentration, strengthening your core and improving stability.
- Vitamin D Boost: Exposure to sunlight during outdoor yoga helps your body produce vitamin D, which is essential for bone health and overall vitality.
- Better Breathing: Fresh air improves lung capacity and oxygen intake, enhancing the benefits of yoga's breathing exercises.
- Grounding and Connection: Practicing barefoot on natural surfaces like grass or sand helps you feel more connected to the earth, promoting mindfulness and grounding.
- Mood Elevation: The combination of yoga and nature can uplift your mood, reduce fatigue, and increase energy levels.

How does your donation help?
As we prepare to launch our first yoga classes and group walks, we are beyond excited to bring movement, connection, and wellness to our community. These offerings reflect our vision: making holistic health accessible and inclusive for all. We plan to launch our first sessions during the last week of May!
Your support will directly impact this work by helping us cover essential costs—including compensating our incredible yoga instructor, Jen. We are thrilled to have her collaborating with us! Every contribution, no matter the size, fuels the mission and strengthens our ability to sustain these programs.
