Relieving Principal's Message
This past fortnight has been full of student successes! Nothing makes me prouder than offering opportunities to smiling, excited faces and allowing them to shine in areas that they have a special talent or interest.
We have had several sporting teams represent our school, multiple students selected to participate in Zone teams and events and two students selected to represent our school at state level. This is an outstanding achievement and I am bursting with pride.
On Tuesday night our dance troupe performed at the Far North Coast Dance Festival held in Tweed Heads to a sold-out crowd of over 1000 people. This is an incredible showcase of the talent our students have. A huge congratulations to Miss Schwenk for her outstanding choreography and commitment to our students.
Last week a group of students attended the AECG Bundjalung Language and Culture Camp held at Lake Ainsworth. They exhibited outstanding behaviour and won several awards throughout the week. Thank you to Miss Graham for supporting our students to attend.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet perspective 2026 Kindergarten students and parents and accompanied them on a school tour. It was a please to see the new generation of Ballina Public School students explore our campus and visit a classroom. If you have a child starting Kindergarten next year, know someone who has a child started Kindergarten next year or are considering sending your child to school next year, please contact our front office and enquire about an enrolment.

Magnets are a useful way to stick things to a refrigerator. However, did you know that magnets play a more important and often unseen role in our daily lives? Many common household items have magnets in them and are part of what makes these items work. We use magnets to hold cupboard doors shut. Electronic devices such as washing machines, laptops and sound systems have magnets in them. Large magnets can even pick up a car!
This term, our class has been investigating magnetic forces. We have used scientific skills to explore the different forces we can observe when using magnets, the materials a magnet can attract and the distance they can act from. We have especially enjoyed exploring the north and south poles of magnets and how they can repel each other.

A group of enthusiastic and talented students proudly represented our school at the annual Brian Kelly Cup Football Day, showcasing not only their football skills but also exceptional teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit.
Held at Kingsford Smith Football fields, the event brought together schools from across the region to compete in a series of friendly but competitive matches. Our students trained hard in the lead-up to the day, and their dedication was evident in every game they played.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their efforts and the way they represented our school community.
Special thanks to our staff and parents who supported the team throughout the day.
Mr Henderson & Ms McNeice - Teachers
The girls put in a determined and spirited performance in their recent touch football match against Southern Cross Public School.
Although the final score didn’t go our way, the girls never gave up and showed great sportsmanship, resilience, and support for each other right to the end.
Well done to all the players!
