Strength Camp is VIRTUAL and can be done from the comfort of your home, your office, or your apartment gym!
How much space do I need? Usually we use the space of about one to two yoga mats. Some people utilize their kitchen space, hallways, room next to their beds, living rooms, garages - and in nice weather, many people work out from their yards or patios. Show up where you feel most comfortable.
How hard are the sessions? All sessions can be scaled to meet your needs for that day. I use a scale from 1-10 to check in with participants about their current energy levels. You are the world's foremost expert and authority on YOU. As you learn to listen to and interpret your body's signals, you'll have a better idea of how much energy you might have to give to movement. I offer adaptations and progressions for movements and also encourage feedback and questions - so that both you and I can be adapt the movements to best suit your needs. So, the sessions are as gentle or as rigorous as you'd like them to be for each day. If you are just starting out or if this is your 5th Strength Camp session - I've got you. I'll meet you at exactly where you're at. There's also no competition at Strength Camp - which lets you focus YOU. I encourage you to show up and give what you can, with what you have, when you have it.
What should I wear? Do I need fancy stuff? You don't need anything fancy. Many participants roll out of bed and come to workouts in their pajamas - sometimes I do too! I usually still have sleep lines on my face and I'm certainly not dressed up in anything fancy or wearing makeup - but that’s my preference and I invite you to show up in any way that feels good to you. You're welcome to wear whatever you're comfortable in. You're also welcome to wear shoes or be barefoot - whichever you like better and best serves your body's needs.
Will I ever get to see everyone in person? I'll aim to try to schedule at least 1 in-person get-together per season, whether for happy hour or maybe a fun day at the Roller Rink, Local Restaurant, Pumpkin Farm or out on the water in the Greater Seattle area. Not to worry if you’re not in Western Washington - we have plenty of team events on zoom so we can get to know one another! I’ve got you!
Seasonal Strength Camps
Next up:
Upcoming 2025 camps:
Fall Strength Camp: Sept 15 - Nov 21st
Mini 3 Week Winter Camp: Dec 1 - Dec 19 (M, W, F only)
Fall Strength Camp: September 15th - November 21st
*No classes on federal/bank holidays (for fall the federal holidays are October 13th and November 11th) and please note that Stacey (me) is a real person and sometimes travels to support family, have medical tests, family emergencies, etc (and others may be added as life does its thing). I will be traveling on September 26th and 29th and these are preplanned days off. Prerecorded workouts, written workouts, and some bonus options will be added to the group and our team schedule.
*Sometimes sick days or emergencies come up - in the event that I am unavailable to teach class, replays and written workouts are readily available. I lead by example - and sometimes rest is best. I'll always make sure that you are supported and have multiple options to choose from.
If you've ever felt like you "didn't belong" in a traditional gym setting... if you've ever feared judgment, if you've never quite found the "right" program - this is the program for you. I welcome you here with a huge virtual high five, hug, fist bump, or head nod. Because bodily autonomy and consent are important - that’s how we roll.
Strength Camp gives us all opportunities to; learn more about our bodies, explore new movements, learn methods to manage our energy levels and stress, and to develop strength, stability, balance, power, mobility, body trust and more. We develop trust in ourselves, in our bodies, and in our strength.
All workouts and stretches are ADAPTIVE! YOU know your body best and I respect that you are the world's foremost authority and expert on what it's like to be YOU. I continuously offer adaptations and options for exercises. We have participants of all ability levels, a wide range of ages (2-82), varied energy levels, and with diverse goals. If you've ever been afraid you wouldn't "fit in" or worried that movement based classes would be "one size fits all" - this may be the group for you. Come as you are and do what you can, with what you have, when you have it. Everyone is welcome and adaptations are centered to create a fantastic experience for everyone. Have wrist issues? We've got you. Old track injury? We've got you. Have difficulty standing for long periods? We've got you. Fibromyalgia, RA, or chronic illness? I'll do absolutely everything possible to support you.
In Strength Camp - we focus on what we GAIN, not what we lose. Movement offers a plethora of benefits to our mental health, higher quality sleep, a stronger cardiovascular system, a boost to our vestibular system and sensory processing, increases in energy, the potential for improved bloodwork, the relief of stress, improved immune function, increased muscle mass, stronger bones, and the list goes on and on. Fatphobia and weight loss/diet rhetoric are not to be found here.
Equipment Suggested
- Household items work! Cans, water bottles, detergent containers, books are all a great place to start.
- We can also use equipment you may have at home: olympic bars, kettlebells, TRX, bosu, a chair, etc. Some people have a couple resistance bands and cans - some have full gyms in their garage. Both are great.
- Many people start with 3 or 5 pound weights and are now lifting 10/12/15/20/25 pound weights. When you find that you need heavier weights - I'll help you find them for a price that fits your budget. We also often have participants trade weights or lend one another gear.
- Resistance bands are an inexpensive and fantastic way to begin - but even big rocks from your yard will work!
- A Yoga mat or exercise mat, a yoga block, and a yoga strap are really useful - we use these especially on active recovery days.

- I, Stacey Sorgen, am a real human and sometimes humans get sick, experience loss, lose power, or go through big things. My hope is to never have to cancel any classes - but as a human, it happens. About Stacey
I'm an HAES-aligned American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer with 15+ years of training experience. I've taught mat-based Pilates, Spin, CoreMania, Silver Sneakers, Adaptive Strength Training, Yoga, Total Body Conditioning, Bootcamps, etc. I work with many organizations, and have taught onsite and online corporate classes at Google, Adobe, Davis Wright Tremaine, McKinstry, EXOS, Fremont Athletic Club, Inviso and more. I've coached runners for 20+ years and served as Head Coach for SoleMates for GOTRPS for 5 years.
I hold Yoga Teacher Certification RYT200 (2015), STOTT Pilates Mat-based practice training (2010), and a certification as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (2013). I completed the 9 month Body Trust Project: School for Unlearning in 2021 and the Promoting Body Trust in Your Work for Practitioners in 2022, both hosted by Be Nourished. I'm dedicated to creating an environment for movement that is equitable, accessible, and diverse. Social justice is paramount and I strive to continue growing in my ability to be of service and support to groups traditionally excluded by the diet/wellness industrial complex. I recently completed a 3 workshop program with Dianne Bondy and Amber Karne with "Yoga For All" on the topics of implicit bias in movement spaces, using trauma-informed language to create affirming spaces, and adapting Yoga asana for all bodies. In July 2022 I successfully completed a 9 month Process-Oriented Facilitation (somatic interventions) program led by David Bedrick, JD, Dipl PW. I have continued my work with David through 2025, grateful to learn under his mentorship. Most recently I completed EXOS education's course, "The Applied Neuroscience of Peak Performance". I just finished the GGS-1 PLUS Women's Coaching Specialist Certification with additional study regarding movement and PCOS, strength training specific to Menopause, and pre/post-natal considerations for movement. I am an active member of ASDAH (Association for Size Diversity and Health). Next up is a return to grad school ... can you guess what I'll be studying?
When it comes down to it, I'm really just a queer, anxious, small-fat, 44 year old, perimenopausal person who grew up in a suburb of Chicago. I now live in Olympia, WA with my incredibly patient and kind wife of 15 years (together 17 years) and our 2 dogs; Oliver (Boxador) and Pumpkin (Italian Greyhound/Chihuaua).
Would you believe me if I told you that my wife and I met on Craigslist? Lol. I looooove LIVE MUSIC of any sort, random acts of kindness, paddle boarding, spending time at the water, and cozy nights watching some sort of trashy television. I love movement in many different forms and I do the work that I do because I'm passionate about it - and I love to use that respect for movement to support others.
I’m obsessed with movement (and learning all there is to know about it) and the impact that movement has on our mental health, quality of life, and ability to do the things we love for as long as we want to be able to do them. I'm headed into my 16th year as a movement coach and I LOVE IT. I also love triathlons, a really good slice of pizza, saying hello to every dog I meet - ever, and spending time on the beach.
Pssst... just to be 100% clear, these programs are not about arbitrary numbers on a scale. We are here to BUILD Strength, Stability, Endurance, and appreciation for Body, Mind, and Spirit. You are welcome here just as you are, magical human. I can't wait for the opportunity, honor, and privilege to support you. See you soon!
