Please note that students should not be dropped at school before 8:30 am when staff supervision commences.

school hats

Students are reminded that broad brimmed hats are a compulsary part of our school uniform. If your child does not have a broad brimmed hat, they are available for purchase from the office for $14 each. Please ensure names are on hats!

grandparents day

Last Friday, Newrybar Public School warmly welcomed grandparents and friends to celebrate World Grandparents Day. It was a lovely morning filled with smiles, stories, and special moments. Students were excited to guide their guests around the school, proudly showing their classrooms, playgrounds, and creative work. They shared fond memories and gave a glimpse into their daily school life, making it a truly heartwarming day for everyone involved.

BYron Bay Film Festival

The senior class were excited to attend the Byron Bay International Film Festival. We watched a number of short films and we also met one of the film makers, who shared film making tips with us.

k-1 tissue fairy

This week the K-1 class had a visit from the Tissue Fairy. She taught us how to blow our noses and how to look after our ears.

4-6 visual arts

Our students have been busy painting and decorating our 'Boots for Bangas' that will be on display at the Bangalow Show in November.

k-1 maths

K-1 are discovering that there are many different ways to represent numbers.

K-1 maths

'Will our paper planes fly better with added mass?' was our investigation question in Math last week. With great perseverance we folded our own planes and tested their flight. Using chalk we marked the distance our planes flew. Finally we added a paper clip and then tested how this affected our planes.
Who sank the boat? After reading the story we created our own boats from foil and investigated how many teddies it took to sink our boats. Year 1 also used scales to create a balance by making playdough balls with equivalent mass.

The senior class are learning about Australia becoming a nation. This week we created timelines that display significant dates and events as Australia was colonised.

As part of our Child Protection unit this term we have been sharing our ideas about our support networks. We chose adults we trust and who keep us safe. Finally we drew and named the five most trusted adults in our lives.

creative arts camp

The North Coast Creative Arts Camp is an immersive residential program that offers students an intensive experience in the creative and performing arts. At the end of last term, Charlotte and Lile took part in this inspiring opportunity held at Tyalgum.
