Heads Welcome
What a wonderful start to the week! I must admit, wearing my dressing gown all day on Monday was a particular highlight – it was fantastic to see so many students and staff embracing our comfy clothes day in support of Friends of Canbury. Thank you again for your enthusiastic participation.
Behind the scenes, the school is a hive of activity as we meticulously prepare for the upcoming public examination season. Please could you remind your children to be mindful of the "Exam in Progress" signs around the school and to ensure they observe silence in those areas to support their peers during this important time.
Finally, a reminder that we have a lovely three-day (hopefully sunny) weekend ahead of us. We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Tuesday. Enjoy the break!

Capturing the Beauty of Spring: Year 10 at the Isabella Plantation
The Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park is such a gem, especially with the evergreen azaleas in full bloom during late April and early May. We were surrounded by colour and fragrance.
The Year 10 students had a fantastic opportunity to practice their photography skills in a picturesque setting. The Victorian woodland garden offers a wonderful mix of natural beauty, from the vibrant azaleas lining the ponds and streams to the more tranquil woodland scenes.
They focused on aspects such as intricate details of the flowers, the reflections in the water and explored techniques such as depth of field, composition and capturing light and shadow. What a glorious day to capture some stunning images!

Get ready for some thrilling races and impressive feats on the 26th June – families welcome to attend to cheer everyone on! Further details to follow.
Comfort for Canbury
We had a wonderfully cosy day at school on Monday, all thanks to our fundraising efforts for Friends of Canbury! The school was a sea of comfy PJs, dressing gowns, slippers and lounge wear as students and staff alike embraced the opportunity to support this worthy cause. It was a fun and relaxed atmosphere, all while raising funds for our wish list.
Thank you to everyone who participated and donated – if you have not yet donated (£2 suggested) please either bring this in and hand to reception or pay via Just Giving HERE

On Sunday 11th May, I will be taking part in the Banham Marsden March which is a 15 mile walk from The Royal Marsden Hospital, Fulham to The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton to raise money for the hospital.
If anybody would be able to sponsor me, I would be really grateful! The Marsden is a fantastic hospital that provides first class care and support to cancer patients and their families.

Glorious Sunshine
It's been lovely seeing everyone enjoying their packed lunches out in the sunny playground this week! The warmer weather has made lunchtime a real treat.
Just a friendly reminder to please make sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day. They can easily refill it at our water cooler throughout the day.
With the sun getting stronger, please also ensure they have applied sunscreen before coming to school.
Marvellous Mini-Beasts by Year 8
Our Year 8 students completed their brilliant insects and have poured a lot of creativity and effort into their models. A giant hornet, a buzzing bee, elegant butterflies, charming ladybugs, and even a pesky mosquito, a fluttering moth, a crawling caterpillar, and a resilient cockroach – we have a diverse and impressive collection!
Mrs Tank writes: It's wonderful that they followed the process so well, from planning and sketching to constructing sturdy frames with newspaper and wire. Learning about proportions, details, attachment techniques, and structural stability are valuable skills they've developed through this project. Fabulous work!
A Surprise Visit
What a delightful surprise to welcome back one of our former students, Kyerll! Freshly graduated from his catering course, he popped in for a visit before embarking on an exciting new chapter, diving into the world of media studies. It was lovely to see him again and hear about his journey since leaving us. We always love hearing from our alumni, and wish him the very best as he continues to grow and explore his talents!
