Biography
Liminal Shroud is a three-piece black metal band from Victoria BC, Canada. Formed in 2017, the band elevates emotive and melodic intensity while retaining a harsh core, redolent of bands such as Agalloch, Primordial, and Drudkh, yet with a distinct identity within the style honed by such artists.
Based on Vancouver Island, the infinite depths of churning oceans and luminous skies of the west coast are forces reflected in the juxtaposition of Liminal Shroud's music – at times harrowing and explosive, at times somber and contemplative, yet with an ever-present sense of elemental power and cathartic conviction.
Thematically, Liminal Shroud focuses on the nature of existence and the self, metaphysical and spiritual transformation, futility, and impermanence. Drawing in influences from outside the stylistic foundations of the genre while honouring its traditional spirit through stirring melodicism and searing intensity, Liminal Shroud is a forward-thinking and progressive voice in black metal, and a band seeking and creating towards a new horizon in extreme music.
Visions of Collapse was released July 5, 2024, and premiered on Black Metal Promotions YouTube channel.

LIVE ACTIVITY
In 2025, Liminal Shroud played Northwest Terrorfest, Cascadian Midsummer, and Infest, as well as completed its first US tour, playing the West Coast with Aenigmatum and Civerous for select shows.
Current Plans
Liminal Shroud is currently preparing to record its fourth album. Writing and preproduction are completed and the band plans to enter the studio in summer 2026.
