Episode 1: Miles Blackburn is thoughtful, grounded, and full of heart
We sit down with 15-year-old Miles, an adoptee affected by China’s One Child Policy. With honesty and vulnerability, Miles opens up about the emotional complexities of growing up adopted, touching on feelings of identity, family, and the everyday struggles that come with not always knowing where you come from. We hear about his life now—his love for theatre, hanging out with friends, listening to music, and the things that bring him joy as a teenager. This conversation is a snapshot of what it’s like to grow up adopted today, and a reminder that every story is layered, personal, and deeply human.

About
Lost Under Law
Many children of the One Child Policy are just now reaching adulthood or have the opportunity to share their experiences. Adoption is not often discussed in the mainstream media, however, many have been affected by it. Making the space for this community will encourage adoptees, families, and cultures to get to know and empathize with their neighbors.
