For this project, I tried to create a poster for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. My goal was to spread awareness while using a stylistic theme in 2024, and decided on the 70’s. This was a fun project that allowed me to get back into photoshop. I do hope that this project can spread some kind of awareness for others.
This piece required me to go out of my comfort zone. It’s a good piece, but it most certainly not go in the direction I envisioned it to. Overall, I wanted to create something a little messier, while still being fun and creative. I believe this piece should be interesting to interpret for oneself.
This project was based off of Shepard Fairey, and had me do a lot of collaging. I had just recently heard talks about raising the retirement age, and had already been dealing with the effects of inflation in my daily life. I wanted to convey my feelings about this in my piece. I hope this challenges one to think more about topics such as this.
This piece has to be my favorite for this year. Carlito is made of around 600 pieces of text and made to display a more futuristic theme. I believe the most challenging part was trying to use text pieces that weren’t just a straight line, but I love how it turned out regardless. Maybe someone will see this piece many years from now and think about how right or wrong I was with the idea of robotic dogs appearing in the future.
This project was completed and submitted as a part of the El Paso County Elections I Voted Student Sticker Contest. For something short and sweet, I just wanted to do some drawing. Brainstorming was the hardest part, so my goal was to get something simple down at the very least. I think it's cute and would love to draw more irises in the future, with luck, others will too.
For this piece I created a psychedelic concert poster for an event I will be seeing in the future. I really tried to achieve that psychedelic style, and would love to try it again to see my improvement. Hopefully, this will encourage people to check out Melanie Martinez’s music! I love her music and can’t wait to see her live.
