NYC School Survey
Your School. Your Child. Your Voice.
Attention Mott Hall HS parents and students, please note that the NYC School Survey is now available for all high school families and students to take. This survey is designed to give school leaders a better understanding of what members of their school community think about their school. It is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and opinions on how to make the school a better place to learn. We encourage all high school families and students to participate in this survey. Thank you in advance for your participation.
The 2024 NYC School Survey is now live and will be open until April 5, 2024. Your feedback is essential in shaping the future of education in our city, so don't miss out on this opportunity to have your voice heard!
Hello, Parents & Guardians of Mott Hall High School,
At the end of February, we implemented the use of the Yondr pouches to help control the excessive use of cellphones in our schools. Since the start of this program, we have seen a huge improvement in our classrooms. Student engagement has increased. Classroom discussions and attention has increased. Overall, it has been a much needed tool for our schools success. However, as with all new programs, we have had some challenges. Some students have figured out how to open the pouches or have broken their pouches. Other students have been hiding devices to not put them in their pouches while some use their headphones to control the phone in the pouch.
We need your help! Please talk to your child about the importance of putting their phones aside and focusing on their education and social-emotional health. Studies show that students are less engaged with teachers and peers while using cellphones and social media.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's cellphone usage or our new phone policy, please contact Mr. Rosa, our Dean of Student Culture.
Join our amazing and dedicated teachers on Saturday, April 6th for Saturday Academy. Students will be given to make up work for the 3rd Marking Period, work on their credit recovery, and test prep for upcoming Regents exams.
Thank you to Ms. Brathwaite and Mr. Jurman for making MHHS amazing.
Your endless dedication to our students, staff and families is appreciated by everyone you come in contact with. You have helped us grow not just academically but emotionally and personally. We love you!
