It's Advent! During this season, we wait and prepare for Jesus' coming, both at Christmas and when He comes again. This year, we're exploring the "Recipe for Salvation" and discovering what Christmas baking can teach us about God and His Word.
Light the Advent Wreath
Each Sunday of Advent, we light a candle on the Advent wreath to count up to Jesus' birth at Christmas. This week, we light the HOPE and PEACE candles.
Sometimes, baking can be stressful or overwhelming. There are ingredients to get, steps to follow, and tasks that may need to be done all at once. It can get messy too, and we might wonder how it will get cleaned up. When the cookies comes out of the oven and the dishes are done, we feel a sweet peace.
In life, we can feel stress or overwhelmed sometimes too. Jesus comes to be our peace. In fact, the Bible calls Him the Prince of Peace. We can rest in His promises and trust that He is holding us and all things together. He died and rose to make all things right and give the sweetness of heaven to all who believe.
