Dear Bluejay Family,
Today's Gospel brings us the well-loved parable of the Good Samaritan — a timeless reminder of what it truly means to be a neighbor. In this story, Jesus calls us to look beyond boundaries and busyness, to see the hurting and the overlooked, and to respond with mercy and action.
As we move through the heat and pace of summer, may we take this lesson to heart as a school community. Let us be the ones who notice when someone needs a hand, who cross the road to help, and who teach our children that compassion is not just a feeling but a choice.
As we look forward to welcoming everyone back soon, I want to share that our updated Parent-Student Handbook will be available in the Campus Life section of our school website on Wednesday, July 16. We have highlighted the most important changes for this year, especially regarding absences and our previously shared school lunch policies. Please take a few minutes to review these updates with your child to help us start the year smoothly and in partnership.
Thank you for the many ways you live out the spirit of the Good Samaritan — in your families, on our campus, and throughout our Broussard community. May we always be known, like the Good Samaritan, for loving our neighbors well.
Grace & Peace,
Erin B. Henry
Principal

Hallow App permission form
We are excited to be partnering with Hallow this year for faculty, staff, and students/families! Students will have a personal Hallow account designed for use in the classroom and at home. The content on Hallow includes music, sleep stories, meditations, and prayers designed specifically for students of all ages, as well as families. We encourage you to use the app at home to pray together and extend what they use at school.
In order to set up your child’s Hallow account, Hallow needs your permission. Please complete THIS FORM by August 1 so we can begin using the app as soon as possible. If you have more than one child at SCS you will only fill out one form but there is an option to add more student names. Please be sure to add all your children who are at SCS.

Ambassador Families Needed
We are excited to roll out The Bluejay Ambassador Program again for this upcoming school year! We are looking for families who have been at St. Cecilia for at least two years and would love to help welcome the new families who will be joining us!
The role of a Bluejay Ambassador is simple yet so important for these new families and includes:
- Attending the new family social to meet your assigned family (expected to be held one evening during the beginning of August)
- Assisting them with any questions they may have regarding campus activities, events, and all things SCS
- Checking in with them monthly with important dates and reminders
- Being an extra hospitable and welcoming face for them on campus
We are hoping to have enough Ambassador families in order to achieve a 1:1 ratio again. If you would like to help give these families a BIG Bluejay welcome and be an Ambassador family for the 2025-2026 school year, please click on the link below and fill out this short form (please complete the form even if you have previously been an Ambassador).
St. Cecilia School is updating its alumni records and would love to hear from all former Bluejays—whether you graduated decades ago or just recently. Please take a moment to update your contact information by filling out this form, visiting www.scsbluejays.org/alumni, calling the school office at (337) 837-6363 and asking for Ashley, or emailing alumni@scsbluejays.org. Thank you for staying connected to the SCS family!
