New to Westport: My Lucky Penny

A new destination with stylists' clothes and goods for tweens, kids and babies has arrived at 8 Church Street South: My Lucky Penny Clothing, a new must-visit boutique for trendy young shoppers. This store offers popular children's brands like Top Trendz, Iscream, Katie J NYC, Lola + the boys and Malibu Sugar. The stores open from 10 A.M. - 6 P.M. on Monday - Saturday and 11 A.M. - 4 P.M. on Sundays. My Lucky Penny owner, Rhoda Schwartz, is from Westchester, NY, where she has her original location. Her Westport location opened up on March 15 and offers toys, hair accessories, jewelry, bags and clothes. While the business is primarily marketed towards tweens and younger children, there are clothes sized for juniors and can fit teenagers! "It's fun, it's exciting to buy all this fun inventory and the kids come in and they go crazy. It's the best part of being the owner of a children's store. It's amazing, I love the feeling!" Schwartz said.

Printed shirts, colorful shorts, tops or skirts, you name it! They have it here at My Lucky Penny Westport.

This shop sells more than just clothes. There are accessories, room decor, keychains, bags, toys, jewelry and much more. Most of the smaller items, accessories, and toys can be found in the front of the store.

Schwartz was drawn towards opening a location in Westport after she found that some of Westchester customers were traveling all the way from Westport."After being here a few times, I literally just fell in love with Westport," Schwartz said . "I had a feeling that this is going to be a new home for me, a place that I will own a business, and a place where I want to raise my eight-year-old daughter."

Schwartz prepared for the start of summer with a variety of colorful dresses, shorts and tops to fit the mood of spring and summer.

My Lucky Penny is currently offering 45% off all Spring clothing and 25% off all Summer clothing to kick off their opening.

The store prioritizes having a large variety of different current styles and clothing trends for tweens and children. "To keep up with children's fashion trends, I go to fashion shows and watch out for whatever kids love and the trends that they like, picking the styles based on different children's personalities and what you see them wear every day," Schwartz said.

Clothes at My Lucky Penny are not only for tweens and younger children, the store offers clothing in juniors sizes (pictured top left and right), fitting teenagers and young adults who are interested in shopping here.
