Eastern Kansas Cru

The world is not as it should be. All you have to do is walk out of your front door, watch the news, or log into your favorite social media site, and you are confronted with this brokenness. God's plan of reversing the curse (Genesis 3:15) and redeeming all of creation can be traced through Abraham, Moses, David, and finds its fulfillment in Jesus. Before he ascended to Heaven, Jesus gave his disciples the Great Commission.

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, as you go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

God is continuing his plan of redemption through his Church as his people serve as ambassadors for his Kingdom. He is making his appeal through us, pleading with people to be reconciled to Him (2 Cor. 5:20).

Envision a world where in every pocket of society and in every corner of the world, there were Christians who were not only equipped but also passionately eager to share the gospel of Jesus Christ at a moment's notice. From the most remote, least inhabited places on earth to the bustling cities of New York and Hong Kong. In the marketplace, in boardrooms, in kitchens, and in accounting offices. No matter where you looked, there was a follower of Jesus ready to invite others into a relationship with Him. This is not just a dream, but a vision we are actively praying for, working towards, and inviting others to join.

Where does Cru fit in this plan of redemption?

As Cru, our role is to be missionaries who strategically engage with the future leaders of communities, families, businesses, churches, and the rest of the world.

Where are these leaders?

Many are on college campuses!

But...

64% of Christians walk away from their faith when they go to college. There's a loneliness epidemic on campuses across our country. Biblical literacy is quickly disappearing.

There is a competition for the souls of humanity, but God has called his Church to bring the good news to all.

Jesus. Community. Mission.

We introduce students to Jesus, equip them to follow Him for a lifetime, and send them out from campus into the world to share the hope of the gospel and live and love as Jesus did.

We simply say, "Win, Build and Send."

Our goal is for everyone to know someone who truly follows Jesus!

Students from Eastern Kansas will be the next generation of Christ's ambassadors in the world. They will be (and already are) men and women who influence the lives of those around them. They'll do this as baristas at coffee shops, engineers, nurses, mothers, fathers, leaders in their churches and neighborhoods, and the list goes on.

We want to ensure that their influence moves people towards Jesus. In love, in grace, in boldness, and in truth.

Colin and Meredith do this work with students at the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS.
