Thirst for Life Helping Oxfam raise awareness of a devastating drought in Zimbabwe. By Justin Jin

Oxfam commissioned Justin to document the human cost of drought in Zimbabwe, where extreme water scarcity is deepened by political challenges. With limited media access, his mission was to bring unseen realities to light through photography and storytelling—amplifying voices that would otherwise go unheard. Traveling across the scorched landscapes, he met children struggling with thirst and adults fighting for survival. The stories he captured were used to raise awareness and drive fundraising efforts.

Nina, a 13-year-old mother, takes full time car of her baby and younger sister during the drought.

Men dig for water in the scorched land.
