Challenge! Can you fill the rest of your Fundamentals of Art sketchbook?

1. Reflect & Remix

Choose a sketchbook or artwork assignment from your Fundamentals of Art sketchbook and re-create it in a new way on a new 2-page spread of your sketchbook. Consider what you could change or improve from that assignments or artwork to make it better, more interesting and more personal.

Consider the following in your REMIX:

  • building on concept/idea
  • developing/practicing techniques learned
  • improve craftsmanship
  • improve composition

2. Observe & Collect

This prompt is all about being a careful observer. In her book, How to be an Explorer of the World, Keri Smith asks readers to investigate their world by "looking closer, consider patterns and connections, and notice the stories going on around you." Choose at least one of the following "Explorations" from her book and complete the exercise in your sketchbook. How can you DOCUMENT these collections in your sketchbook in a interesting and meaningful way?

3. Experience & Document

Use your sketchbook to document your summer experience. Draw, paint, collage, write, sketch! Try and draw a little bit everyday.
