from our 2025 year 6 students

From the parents of the Year 6 graduates of 2025, to the staff of Newrybar Public School: It is with deep fulfillment, incredible gratitude and enormous sadness that our young ones said farewell to this beautiful school. Thank you, Judi, for steering this ship with the steady hand of expertise and experience, integrity and kindness. Thank you to all the teachers for the passion and care for education you dedicated to our children. You have fostered their love of learning: igniting curiosity, nourishing growth and equipping them with the resilience to enjoy the challenge that all learning presents. Thank you to all the staff for helping to make this school the warm and safe embrace of a home from home, where our young ones have worked and played, laughed and cried, triumphed and fallen, learnt and grown in a rich tapestry of childhood fully lived. We are profoundly grateful.

reminders to start the year

School starts at 9 am. The playground is supervised from 8:30am, so your children can play before going into class. Summer uniforms are to be worn - grey shorts or skorts and blue polo shirts with socks and comfortable shoes. Sports uniforms can be worn on Wednesdays. Please ensure your child has a broad brimmed hat for play time and sport. Caps are not permitted. A small stock of uniforms is kept on hand in the office if you require anything. Our next uniform order will be placed in a few weeks. We also have a supply of second hand uniforms in the office - ask Moz if you're interested in any. Book Pack charges and Voluntary Contributions will be added to your School Bytes accounts. New students commencing at Newrybar Public School will not be able to access School Bytes until after your child's first day of enrolment. The VoSS (Valley of Small Schools) Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday, 13 February at Mullumbimby Swimming Pool. Students attending must have their permission notes and payment completed in School Bytes by Friday, 6 February. The carnival is only for students 8 years and older who can swim 50m. Change of details - please email the school if your address, phone number or any other details have changed recently. Please include your new details for us to update our records. We hope everyone enjoyed the summer holidays and we look forward to welcoming everyone to school on Monday.

2026 books packs

Book Packs for 2026 will be $50 per student and include all exercise books and stationery throughout the year. Students will be required to supply their own pencil case. Pencil cases should be approx 20-30 cm long and medium sized. Supplies are your child's property and are given to them at the beginning of the year and replenished each term. Parents can opt to purchase your own stationery including lead pencils, coloured pencils, whiteboard markers, glue sticks, books etc. We will send a note when your child's supplies need to be replenished if you prefer to purchase yourself. Textas are supplied at school but some students prefer their own. If purchasing your own supplies please see the list below. We ask that if purchasing lead pencils please buy a quality brand as the others snap in the pencil and are difficult to sharpen.

voluntary contributions

Student Voluntary Contributions are $50 per child and will be added to your child's School Bytes accounts at the beginning of the year. Voluntary Contributions are used for art and craft supplies and materials so that we are able to offer a range of activities throughout the year. Voluntary Contributions often known as school fees are just that, voluntary. No child is disadvantaged if Voluntary Contributions are not paid and it is parent decision to pay the contribution.

bus passes

If you require a bus pass for your child, click here to apply. Students who currently have a bus passes for Newrybar Public School, need to apply for a new one when they commence Year 3. This is to do with the radius you live from the school, and funding within the Department of Transport. Parents are able to apply for a bus pass on safety grounds if you are within the designated walking radius.

permission notes

Most permission notes and payments are made through the School Bytes app. Paper permission notes will also be sent home for some activities. To avoid disappointment, please ensure you have given consent and paid on time.

2025 END OF YEAR PRESENTATION

What a wonderful way to finish the year! Our celebrations included fantastic end-of-year performances, award presentations, and a heartfelt farewell to our departing Year 6 students — Kaiuss, Dante, Yindi, Georgia and Santi. We wish each of you every success as you begin your next exciting chapter in high school.
