Journey through sight Digital Photography 2 Jacob Kwak
The ICM photo was my best piece in my opinion. I took this photo at nighttime in my backyard, and I wanted to capture the cars movement and flow in the image. To do this, I swerved the camera to the right as fast as I could, hoping to get that light bending illusion. The streetlamp above the road also helps with the focus of the photo, and I think it looks pretty cool.
This was a photo I took of the ramp leading up to my neighborhood. It has good lighting from the sunset, and since the trees block the path of light, it gave me the idea to darken the rest of the photo using filters. I enjoyed doing the geometrica inside the photo, since it was really simple and it can give an image a whole new feeling.
I took this photo during a sunset in my backyard, and used the geometrica style in the part with the most open space.
For the deconstruction project, I took apart my keyboard and laid all the keys on my table. When I reviewed the image in photoshop, however, it was very dirty in between all the switches. I used a color dropper to pick colors from the keyboard, and used the brush tool to cover up blotches and marks on the keyboard and the table to give it a cleaner finish. I also adjusted the hue shift to turn the switches from yellow to blue.
I took this photo in Hawaii, with a different camera. I tried to capture the image of a fading sunset by using the blur effect in photoshop. I also added a couple dots that matched the color scheme of the sky for the bokeh aspect of the photo
For this project we were meant to convey a message through imagery. For the pain piece, I thought about two people going head to head with each other, but with a dark background. I used a book light and hung it on my door, then asked my dad to help me take the photo. I think it turned out okay.
For the depression piece I wanted to imagine a person in a spotlight who hated being in it. so I took a photo from the internet of a person slumped in a chair and cropped him into the photo. For the photo, I took a picture of my desk and used the book light as a substitute for a lamp. I think the angle of the person is a little janky, but the atmosphere makes it look believable.
For the light painting photo, I originally wanted to use an old lightsaber for the strobe effect, but I didn't have one on me, so I used a plastic noise gun with a blue light and waved it around like a maniac. I think it looks like a crosswoven beam of light.
