Alumni NewsLetter WELCOME BACK!

A Message from Head Coach Chelsey Mulligan

As I venture into year two, one of my main focuses is rebuilding our connection to our alumni and to instill some traditions on celebrating our history. UMSL has a rich history of successful teams and my staff and I are looking to reconnect with you all. I am a big believer of creating community and there is a big network of UMSL Softball players out there. One of the greatest pieces of creating this connection is the ways in which alumni can give back to our current rosters and the way our current rosters can create a home away from home by continuing the opportunity for our alumni to create memories at their alma matter while sharing that with friends and family. Some of the many ways I have seen alumni give back is by helping to instill gratitude in current rosters for what we have now, providing a network for both the team and other alumni’s careers, and the alumni community itself aids in recruiting. I would LOVE to build an environment that could foster those types of connections here. I will be honest with you that we are starting bare bones over here, we have very little contact information – so we need to hear from you! Much like I tell our team, this is your program, and we want to hear how we can best support our alumni. If you have teammates that you stay in contact with please pass this along to them.

Our goals for this year have been to start this alumni newsletter via email, create a softball alumni database, create a questionnaire on our website to update contact information, and host our first alumni game this spring. In the next academic year we plan to release our alumni newsletter via email four times a year (August, December, February or March, and June), find contacts for previous teams that are interested in helping us to fill in gaps in roster information and aid in making connections, and continue to build events around our alumni game.

If you plan to come to a game this spring please get in touch with us so that we can meet you in person. We start in a couple short weeks, we have an energetic team who love the game and we can’t wait for them to get on the field.
