Mrs. Bush's Barnard Broadcaster "Each person, each day, learning and caring in every way."

Dear Families,

We sure had a busy week, starting off with a highly attended PTO meeting on Monday night, followed by a packed Curriculum Night on Wednesday and culminating with our annual Constitution Day assembly on Friday! It was so nice to have our building full of family involvement all week long. I am enjoying meeting you all event by event as I work to make connections between parent meetings and your children in the classrooms. Thank you for continuing to introduce yourself to me at these events along with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

Families, we need your help with an afternoon dismissal trend we are seeing grow. We are so pleased to have some older siblings come up to school to pick up younger siblings at the end of the day. Please remind them to meet their sibling in the front of the school at a meeting spot. They may not walk around the school to pick up their younger sibling as this can cause distractions with peeking in windows during the end of the day learning. Thank you so much for your help with this as we keep student safety as a number one priority.

If you weren't able to make it to my presentation on curriculum night, please enjoy the presentation below. If you weren't able to make it to your child's teacher, please reach out to them to ask for any handouts they shared that evening as well.

This past week PTO launched our Fun Run Fundraiser and we are already proud to announce that we are off to a great start, surpassing our first goal of $5,000.00. This has earned the entire school a visit from Jay Jay this week. Once our next goal of $10,000.00 is reached, the entire school will earn PAJAMA DAY. We can do this!!! Thank you for your help with this initiative as it is our annual fundraiser to raise money for classroom materials, in school experiences, field trips and so much more! We absolutely cannot plan the fun activities all year long without a successful Fun Run. One way to look at it is if every student in the school raised only $100.00, we would raise over $40,000.00 as a school. Just imagine the impact that could have on our school. On Friday, September 29th, families are invited to come and cheer on the kids as they run.

We are so glad to see so many of our families taking in the opportunity to receive Free Breakfast. Over the course of the next few weeks, we are asking families to check in with their children to see how they are enjoying the food selections. We hope that your child is enjoying the breakfast, however, in the event that they don't care for the options, we want to remind you that you have the opportunity to opt out at anytime just as you can opt in at anytime. This will continue all year long. Checking in with your child will help us to ensure we are cutting down on possible food waste as well. Thanks for your partnership on this new initiative!

Want to stay connected throughout the week and see pictures of your children in action here at school, please follow me on Instagram @MrsBushTSD.

Have a wonderful weekend with your families!

Warmly,

Mrs. Bush
