Do you want to get the required school credit for class but CHOOSE a new way that fits YOUR interests and YOUR schedule?
This program is designed to explore the history of the United States from the lens of a designer and an entrepreneur by infusing digital media technology skills with critical social science knowledge and perspective. You will engage with the historical events and cultural developments of American History by analyzing and creating visual media in order to develop a portfolio of digital design projects centered around significant American themes and developments. The goal is for you to engage with the material at a more personal level by actively participating in creating the story of American History.
Students in this program will be enrolled in two courses simultaneously. The courses are designed to feel like one big class with all projects and information overlapping. The 2 courses are Examining U.S. History (get your normal history credit) and HONORS Digital Media & Design (get weighted art 'f' credit). One course will be inside the regular bell schedule while the other is offered in a hybrid/flexible option.
