DO YOU KNOW A FAMILY WHO WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE ACADEMY? DO THEY HAVE A LOVE FOR THE ARTS? DO THEY ALREADY HAVE SOME SPANISH LANGUAGE ABILITIES? THIS IS THEIR CHANCE! HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!
Attention 8th Grade Parents!
Are you on a transfer? Transfers from Gunn to Arlington High School must be renewed. One of the missions at Arlington High School is to be the #1 school of choice in AISD. We are proud of the status we've achieved as THE high school to be at in Arlington. The transfer window for the 24-25 school year is about to begin. Students who do not live in the AHS attendance zone may apply for a transfer during the transfer window. If spots are available, students will be offered spots to Arlington HS pending a review of attendance and discipline. Arlington High has become a popular choice among Arlington families and we expect a waiting list in all grades. If you know of anyone interested in a transfer, please encourage them to apply for a transfer as soon as the window opens.
Transfer Windows: 11/16/23-11/30/23 --- 3/26/24-4/11/24 --- 7/2/24-7/18/24
NOTE: Students in the Dual Language program are automatically zoned for Arlington High School. No action is necessary if your child is in the Fine Arts and Dual Language Academy.
Choir students performed in the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest. A school record 36 students signed up to audition and a school record 34 competed! (Two were unable to at the last minute due to illness.) Mr. Hendrickson is incredibly proud to announce that for the first time in school history all 34 performers from Gunn received a 1, superior rating! That is the highest possible score a singer can receive in the Solo and Ensemble contest. We also had a whopping 11 students earn an outstanding soloist designation! The singers did a wonderful job preparing and have worked very hard for this result. Please join in congratulating these students!
