Fourth Grade Students Complete Clay Projects

Students Build Ceramic Skills Through Hands-On Art

Fourth grade students completed their coil pot projects, with the finished pieces glazed and ready to use. The project provided students with an opportunity to develop their artistic and technical skills while learning the process of creating functional pottery. Throughout the project, students practiced shaping clay, building coil pots, and adding features such as handles to create items including mugs and other useful pieces. The completed projects were glazed and fired, resulting in finished pieces that are microwave, dishwasher, and food safe.

This hands-on learning experience was made possible through funding from the Chenango County Council of the Arts, which has supported the project for a second consecutive year.
After weeks of hard work and creativity, fourth grade students proudly share their completed pottery projects.
Otselic Valley extends its appreciation to Ms. Cantrell for guiding students through the creative process and helping them develop new artistic skills through this project.
Fourth grade artists proudly hold the finished pottery pieces they designed, built, and glazed during this hands-on learning experience.
