2023 Allen Eagle Escadrille TWIB Notes october 23 -october 29

The Allen Band concluded their contest season with an AMAZING performance at Area.

This Week In Band

Boo Bowl, Dinner & Silent Auction, & Area Recap

As usual, this is a busy week for the Allen Band & Guard! Please see details below on Boo Bowl and Tuesday Dinner & Silent Auction.

AREA RECAP

The Allen Band had two amazing performances this weekend: Friday at our home game vs. Guyer and at Area prelims on Saturday. While we were unable to perform one last time at Area finals, we all know that the performances this weekend were filled with an incredible amount of energy and artistry. The staff all agrees that this year's band and guard has worked hard and brought our level of performance to a very high level while continuing our legacy of excellence. While we are now moving to concert season and playoff football games, everyone should hold their heads high knowing how special the 2023 contest season was.

BOO BOWL (10/28)

This Friday marks our annual boo bowl game @ Prosper. This tradition is always a lot of fun. All students are required to either wear a costume or wear their Escadrille Dry Fit t-shirts for this game. We will have a costume contest for group costumes on the track stadium after call time!

  • COSTUMES: Costumes should adhere to AISD Dress Code. Students should not wear masks that cover eyes and possibly impede marching/safety.
  • IF NO COSTUME: Dryfit, khaki shorts/long blue jeans

There are many announcements this week. Please carefully review all of the announcements in this week's TWIB.

  • Morning Rehearsals This Week: Wed-Fri (7-8:30am)
  • Contest season is over; now what?: We will have limited rehearsals for the remainder of the football season. On Wednesday and Thursday we will work on parade marching in preparation for a Tournament of Roses Audition. We will record one required element of the audition on Thursday morning and require all students to wear their Escadrille Dryfit and khaki shorts for part of our taping. On Friday's morning rehearsal we will prepare for our away football game.
  • BOO BOWL - Away Game vs. Prosper (10/27): See above guidelines for optional costumes and if you choose to not wear costumes. Call time is 4:40pm in the track stadium. Itinerary HERE.
  • Dinner & Silent Auction Tickets Tuesday (10/24): Our Dinner & Silent Auction event, featuring Carrabba’s Italian Grill, is coming up on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the AHS Performing Arts Center starting – starting at 6pm. On this fun night, you will enjoy great food, wonderful music, and a silent auction spotlighting some of your favorite local businesses in Allen! Entertainment during and after dinner will be courtesy of the Allen Jazz Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble, and AHS Wind Ensemble. This event is open to the public, so please invite friends & family! You can pirchase tickets at the door for $20. Details (including items up for auction) can be found at http://allenband.com/carrabbas.

  • Absences/Tardies: THERE IS NO EXCUSED ABSENCE REQUEST FORM IN 2023-24.
