How to obtain your "Intro Adobe Premiere Pro Badge"

Creating a short video in Adobe Premiere Pro

Welcome to video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro! For this Intro Badge you will embark on a journey through the powerful features and tools that Premiere Pro offers, enabling you to bring your creative visions to life with ease. We will explore the fundamentals of this industry-standard software, unlocking the potential to craft compelling and visually stunning videos. Get ready to dive into the art of storytelling, and enhance your editing skills! You are welcome to create a short video of your own, or complete a video using the resources and instructions in the Intro to Adobe Premiere Pro resource page posted above, both will meet the requirements to obtain your Intro Badge to Adobe Premiere Pro!

  • Create a New Sequence: Open Adobe Premiere Pro and start a new project. Once hte user interface has opened click on "File > Sequence" then click on the "Settings" tab to adjust the aspect ratio for your video to "Width: 1080px and Height: 1920px."
  • Import Media Files: Click on the "Import Media" button (or double click inside the project panel) and select the video, audio, and image files you want to use in your project. Organize your files in the project panel to easily access them during editing.
  • Arrange and Edit Clips: Drag and drop your media files onto the timeline in the order you want them to appear in your video. Drag the end or beginning of clips to shorten them or use the razor tool if you need to to adjust them to the desired length. Use the selection tool (V) to move and arrange them. Using the Essential Audio and Effects panels add transitions, effects, and audio enhancements to enhance the visual and auditory experience of your video.
  • Add Text and Graphics: Use the Essential Graphics panel to add titles, text, or graphics to your video, go to the "Graphics" workspace. Use the "Type Tool" to create text layers and customize their appearance. You can also import graphic files and arrange them on the timeline. Experiment with different fonts, colors, and animations to enhance the visual appeal of your video.
  • Export as H.264 (.mp4): Once you are satisfied with your video, it's time to export it. Go to File > Export > Media. In the Export Settings window, choose the H.264 format from the Format dropdown menu. Adjust the preset settings according to your preferences or use a preset like "Match Source – High Bitrate." Confirm the output name and destination, then click on "Export" to render and save your video as an H.264-encoded .mp4 file.

Submitting your Short Video

  1. Click on the "Badge Request" link below and fill out the required information.
  2. Upload your .mp4 of your short video and press "Submit."
  3. Allow up to 2 weeks for badge processing.
