Project Description:
The University of Houston’s Memorial Hermann Football Operations Center represents a transformational leap as the program enters the Big 12 Conference. Integrated into the west end zone of TDECU Stadium, the project combines performance-driven architecture, experiential graphics and custom lighting to elevate both daily athletics operations and the fan experience. Level 1 functions as the program’s high-efficiency performance core, with the locker room suite positioned for direct access to the field, indoor practice facility and primary circulation routes. Surrounding the locker suite, a dense network of sports medicine, fueling and equipment spaces creates a tightly synchronized ecosystem. Dynamic experiential graphics and programmable lighting animate these zones. A bold design move relocates the weight room to Level 2, enabling vertical stacking over the existing stadium structure and improving connectivity. A multistory plyometric stair links both levels. The stadium transformation continues with new premium suites, a 10,000‑square‑foot multipurpose club, expanded lobby exhibit space, a 7,200‑square‑foot video board, a rooftop terrace and a 360‑degree concourse that sits below one of the Big 12’s largest video boards.
