Head Boys and Girls

Last year was the first time Ysgol Sychdyn had Head and Deputy Head Boys and Girls; they worked with Mr Hamilton, Mrs Gittins and Miss Hughes, our SLT (senior leadership team), represented the school at various events and met with the school governors throughout the year at meetings and during monitoring visits. They were our first SLT (student leadership team), they were awesome and it is now time to elect our new SLT.

On Wednesday 17th September, during assembly, Year 6 pupils that would like to put themselves forward for the position of Head Boy or Girl can address the rest of the school and explain why they would like the role.

Alwen, Brenig & Tegid

On Wednesday 24th September, we will be having our first House assemblies of the year.

Year 6 pupils will be able to speak to the rest of their House and put themselves forward for the roles of House Captain, Creative Arts Captain or Sport and Wellbeing Captain.

Home Reading Books

Reading scheme books will be getting sent home shortly and we will also be launching our very first Read-a-thon competition!

Watch this space...

With help from the PTA, charity shops, Vinted, donations and raiding cubby-holes, staff have been busy revamping and updating our home reading books.

October Half-Term

Kids' Club are hoping to open during October half-term; this will be dependant upon to demand. To avoid disappointment, please let Kids' Club know asap if you would like to reserve a spot. Diolch.

Uniform

Thank you so much for supporting the school with the uniform policy introduced by the Governors last year. It really does have such a positive impact on many aspects of school life.

We have had a few unlabelled new jumpers, cardigans and quarter zips already in the first 1.5 weeks of school, so please do ensure all items are labelled. Diolch.

There are items of pre-loved uniform by the main entrance of the school, if anyone needs any spare items.
