Scroll on for my Story

I am a professional artist who has been painting and drawing since I was a small child. My work is inspired by the people and places around me, as well as my own life experiences. I love to capture the beauty of everyday moments in my paintings and drawings. My artwork is unique and expressive, and it would make a beautiful addition to your home or office. My art captures the heart of the viewer, inviting you into a special world where you can escape from the stresses of daily life.

I was adopted as an infant into a family with a humble background. My aunt Lexdale once said our family was the "poor white trash of Ireland". Something I found on Ancestry is that the McDaniel name was picked up after the War for Independence in the U.S. because our name was MacDonald and we were Royalists. After the war and the colonies won their independence the family skedaddled to Canada except one and he went to Kentucky and changed the name to McDaniel, eventually settling in Tennessee. One of the McDaniels eventually migrated to Texas. My mother's side of the family have English surnames like Day and Prince, and were some of the first settlers in Bosque County in Texas, having migrated from Mississippi.

Downtown Dallas

My work is often described as being "raw," "visceral," and "unpolished." You can own a piece of history with one of my pieces. Each one is unique and tells its own story, just like me. Remember that History/Herstory is made at night!

I was born and grew up in and around Dallas, Texas where the family had lived for several generations. My mother was an educator and taught for over 20 years, she loved children so much and was my legacy at the University of North Texas (as was my maternal Grandmother). My father worked in computer programming having become an Electrical Engineer graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

My formative years were influenced by the late 60s counter culture and the 70s/80s Punk/New Wave era. I always tried to be controversial and was one of the first to dress in this rebellious Punk style including eye makeup which was a little shocking in Texas at this time but it was common among so many Punk and New Wave music groups and fans.

I saw a T-shirt from the Museum of Modern Art which read: "If it looks good above your sofa, it isn't art." That is what I strive to create in my art.

My take on Munch's The Scream

Glenn McDaniel Arts is a unique art company that sells beautiful and peaceful artwork. My artwork is inspired by Buddhism, peace, and love. I want to share the beauty of these concepts with the world through my artwork. My goal is to create pieces of art that will bring peace and happiness into people's lives. I believe that my artwork can help people find their inner calm and peace.

When I was 8 years old, I spent much of that year contemplating dogma and wondering about the purpose of my existence. I concluded that my natural talents in the visual arts were where I should focus in order to make art that hopefully brings Peace, Joy and LOVE to others.

I have always tried to be mindful and respectful of others but I am human. I always try to apologize and make amends when I discover I have behaved or spoken with disrespect. I recognize that everyone has an opinion and support everyones right to speak their mind and live their life as they choose. On the same topic I always fight for everyone's individual rights and against anyone trying to impose their beliefs on others.

My Art

Do you like art? Me too! I am an artist who creates beautiful pieces of art using a variety of mediums. My work has been featured in exhibitions all over the world and I have even won some awards for my incredible talent. If you want to own a piece of art that is truly unique and one-of-a-kind, then Glenn McDaniel Arts is the perfect place for you.

I always had a little talent in drawing and painting and my parents encouraged my interest from an early age. When I graduated from Irving High School, I was selected to show a watercolor in a group show at the Irving Art Center.

I create post-modern art. I deconstruct the traditional ideas about what art is and how it should be made. My work questions the role of the artist, the viewer, and the artwork itself. I want you to look at my art and think about it long after you’ve left my gallery. I want you to feel like you’ve seen something new, something that makes you question everything you know about art.

Described as Post-Modern, I think this is my attitude when approaching my projects so it's mostly about feelings in the tradition of the Romanticism art movement. I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of North Texas in Denton just north of Dallas/Ft. Worth. I frequently encountered instructors and professors who did not understand my work, one asked me once why I was there, another told me he didn't "get me". I finally discovered a Professor named Judy Youngblood when I took a class in Printmaking who looked at my work in terms of technique. I thought the other Professors that didn't "get me" should have been teaching this way. Judy inspired me and I switched my major from Painting and Drawing to Printmaking and I consider studying under Judy to be a pivotal point in my career. My work has also been heavily influenced by the Abstract Expressionists.

I began with a minor in Theatre but switched midway to English after I began writing poetry. So I am also a poet, and I am heavily inspired by Romanticism. Romanticism is a movement in the arts that emphasizes emotion and intuition over reason and logic. It began in the late 18th century and lasted into the mid-19th century. My poetry celebrates this movement, and I strive to evoke strong emotions in my readers. If you are looking for something different, something that will touch your heart, then you should read my poetry. It is full of passion and life, and it will make you see the world in a new way. Are you looking for a new and exciting way to spend your free time?

When I was 30 years old I moved to the Tampa Bay area in Florida and shortly afterwards opened a Studio/Gallery called Live Art Place with another talented artist friend in Tampa named Pedro Parra. Pedro remains in Tampa and continues to create his unique style which reflects his heritage. Then the gallery joined the Tampa Gallery Association and participated in the Association's "Gallery HOP" where we used city busses to run from the Museum of Fine Arts downtown to each of the member Galleries and then back to the Museum where we had live entertainment and food vendors. It was a HUGE success and wildly popular for several years!

Glenn McDaniel Arts is the perfect place for anyone who wants to be surrounded by beautiful art. As co-owner of Live Art Place gallery and studio, I offered something for everyone. The gallery was home to many talented artists, and also offered live model drawing classes for people of all ages. There wasn't another gallery like it in Tampa Bay. The gallery's unique approach to art left you feeling inspired and excited about the world of art. I can’t wait to share my passion for art with you!

I have exhibited my work internationally in Florence, Italy at the Bienale de Firenze and in Sydney, Australia. I also exhibited in a group show at the Center For Contemporary Art in Tampa, Florida.

If you're looking for an art fix, look no further.

No matter where you are in the world, I am an art destination that's perfect for you. My online galleries are always changing so there's always something new to see. Plus, I am knowledgeable and happy to give you recommendations and help you find the perfect piece of art for your home.

I am an artist who wants to make the world a better place. I don't just create art, I use my art to promote peace and understanding in the world. My art is inspired by spirituality and a desire for a world without war, hunger, or greed. I am an artist who wants to make the world a better place.

I try to avoid subjects about religion even though I think religion is the opiate of the masses. I think spirituality is a personal journey and everyone’s beliefs should be respected. I encourage everyone to develop a strong meditation practice. If we all meditated I think there would be no more War, Hunger or Greed and we would all have Peace.

There is so much anger in the world today and I think we all treat one another poorly, without love. Each of us has a special gift and our individual contributions to the world should be acknowledged and treasured. I think we should all work to end War, Hunger and Greed.

I do not avoid politics or economics because I consider these current constructs to be tools to manipulate, exploit and control others. They are a distraction from the aspects of life I consider important and I am simply not a fan of Capitalism or anyone who tries to force their ideas and way of life on others. We all have the right to walk our own path and to decide how our governments and corporations should act.

I am certain there must be a better path which is respectful of others and is full of Joy, Happiness, Love and Peace.
