MAXQDA is a software for managing and analyzing qualitative research. It offers a wide of powerful tools that are helpful for managing your research project, analyzing data and collaborating with team members.

This session will provide an introduction to using MaxQDA and the ways in which the software can be helpful in systematic literature reviews and qualitative research projects. Within the session Marianna will highlight the functions that are useful for multimedia researchers and collaborative qualitative and mixed-methods projects.

What will we cover?

  1. Data analysis and visualisation using MaxQDA
  2. Systematic literature review capabilities
  3. Coding multimedia data (voice recordings, videos, photos)
  4. Collaborating on research via MaxQDA

Who will find this workshop useful?

  • Researchers using qualitative research methods - in particular if you are dealing with complex multimedia data
  • Researchers who work with large amounts of data that is 'hard to eyeball' and are interested in software that can go beyond basic coding and help you make sense of your data
  • Those conducting a systematic literature review
  • Those who have used NVivo and are interested in learning about an alternative qualitative data analysis software package

Workshop requirements

It is important that all workshop participants come to the session with a demo version of MaxQDA (good for 1 month) installed on their laptops.
